Concealed facts about the landing of the Ryanair flight in Minsk
On May 23rd, a passenger plane of the Irish low-cost airline Ryanair on its way from Greece to Lithuania was summoned to land in Minsk (Belarus). The opponent blogger and journalist Roman Protassevich, who was on the plane, got arrested. In this program, backgrounds are highlighted but systematically ignored by Western media and politicians. Could it be connected to Corona politics?

On May 23rd, a passenger plane of the Irish low-cost airline Ryanair on its way from Greece to Lithuania was summoned to land in Minsk (Belarus). The aircraft was escorted by a Belarusian fighter jet. President Alexander Lukashenko had himself given the order with the justification that explosive substances were reported on board. The plane was checked after the emergency landing, but no explosives were found. Subsequently, “all passengers were sent to another security check”. The opponent blogger and journalist Roman Protassevich got arrested in the process.
The actions of the Belarusian authorities sparked massive criticism in the West. There were talks of “state terrorism” by Belarus, “a state hijacking a passenger aircraft” and “state air piracy”.
The heads of state and government agreed in record time on a whole package of sanctions against Lukashenko's government such as, for example, not allowing any longer Belarusian airlines to fly through EU airspace.
The statement of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry was hardly mentioned in the Western media. They said the incident had to be considered from a security point of view.
The ministry spokesman Anatoly Glass said that “There is no doubt that the actions of our competent authorities did fully comply with the official international rules”.
The Belarusian Aviation Department had invited representatives of international aviation authorities, as well as experts from the EU and the USA to investigate the facts. Recordings of the pilots’ conversations were provided as evidence that no pressure nor threats were exerted on the decision of the Ryanair crew.
Ministry spokesman Glas criticized the West for rushing to conclusions, the situation being deliberately escalated and politicized. According to the diplomat, neither Europe nor the U.S. wanted to examine the situation objectively, “rather slogans about sanctions immediately came up.”
The question if the “bomb threat” might have just been a pretext by the Belarusian government to force the landing and arrest Protassevich might be justified. However, his arrest must be viewed in a context that is consistently omitted by Western media and politicians:
1. Protassevich is certainly no ordinary blogger or journalist. He was one of the co-founders of the Telegram channel NEXTA. NEXTA organizes and orchestrates protests and training programs for a coup d'état in Belarus and Russia with the support of Western non-governmental organizations.
NEXTA primarily attracted attention for its derogatory hate rhetoric towards President Lukashenko, state officials and security forces. The Supreme Court in Minsk had therefore classified the Telegram channel of NEXTA as extremist on October 20th, 2020. On November 5th, 2020, Protassevich was charged with organizing mass chaos, actions violating public order (Article 342), and encouraging social unrest.
2. The “forced” landing of the Ryanair plane that has been concealed by the western media has a backstory:
on April 13th, 2021, the Russian secret service in Moscow arrested three men who had planned a coup in Minsk.
The plan was to shoot President Lukashenko and his sons, shut down the power grid and incite an armed rebellion that would have resulted in many deaths to seize power in the end.
Russian intelligence has released recordings clearly disclosing the details of the coup plan discussed by the known opposition figures. In this context, the arrest of Protassevich, a key opposition figure, has a different meaning.
3. The latest reactions of Western media and politicians are contrasting with the reactions to an incident in July 2013, when several EU countries had forced the plane of Bolivian President Evo Morales to stopover in Vienna by suddenly closing their airspace.
The United States had indeed suspected that whistleblower Edward Snowden was on board and therefore wanted to arrest him during the forced stopover. The request failed only because Snowden had remained in Russia.
Protests by European media and politicians were not heard at the time. Another example is the forced landing of a Belarusian plane in Ukraine in 2016, when an Armenian on board who was an opponent of the Maidan was taken off the plane and arrested.
The above-mentioned backgrounds make clear on the one hand, how reporting is unbalanced and one-sided, and on the second hand, how the obviously synchronized media are being politically instrumentalized. This is in the interest of global strategists who want to get rid of displeasing heads of state like Lukashenko. Watch the broadcast
