Venezuela, a country already shocked by crises, was shaken on June 24, 2026 at 6:04 PM local time by two of the strongest earthquakes in the nation’s history. The US seismic monitoring service measured the tremors at magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5. The death toll has now risen to nearly 2,000, with approximately 10,000 people still missing. "A US meteorologist described the combination of a rare 'doublet' earthquake in Venezuela and a strong quake in Japan occurring close in time as extremely rare – roughly estimated to happen once every 1,000 to 1,200 years," reports the science portal tkp.at. The last strong quake is said to have occurred at a depth of 10 km, thus relatively close to the Earth’s surface – which led to devastating consequences. On January 12, 2010, Haiti was hit by a severe earthquake of magnitude 7. The epicenter was also at a depth of 10 km. Venezuela's then-president Hugo Chávez accused the USA of using earthquake weapons. The Russian Northern Fleet is said to have confirmed this statement. Other terrible catastrophic quakes, such as 2004 in Indonesia, 2011 Fukushima, or in the eastern Turkish Kurdish region, were reported at a depth of 10 km. The dreadful earthquake in 2023 in eastern Turkey and northern Syria, which killed over 60,000 people, was also located at a depth of 10 km, later "corrected" to 15 km. Whether the earthquake in Venezuela was an artificially created quake cannot be proven at this time and requires further investigation. However, it is fact that applicable military technology in the field of weather and earthquake weapons exists. It is no coincidence that the so-called ENMOD Convention (Environmental Modification Convention) was adopted in 1976. In it military or any other hostile use of environmental modification technologies is prohibited.
