Wie over de toelating van het vaccin voor de jongsten beslist. Het Europees Geneesmiddelenbureau (EMA) bekijkt momenteel de toelating van het coronavaccin van de fabrikanten BioNTech en Pfizer voor kinderen van vijf tot elf jaar! Dit werd op 18 oktober in Amsterdam bekendgemaakt door het EMA. Al eerder werd de toelating voor de omstreden vaccins op basis van genen in allerijl goedgekeurd, eerst voor volwassenen en vervolgens ook voor adolescenten vanaf de leeftijd van twaalf jaar. Het EMA, dat verantwoordelijk is voor de toelating van en het toezicht op geneesmiddelen in de EU, wordt voorgesteld als het orgaan van deskundigen. Maar hoe betrouwbaar en vooral onafhankelijk is het agentschap, ook gezien het feit dat het “vaccin” binnenkort aan de jongsten zal worden toegediend? Emer Cooke werd op 16 november 2020 benoemd tot EMA-directeur. Zij heeft een beslissende invloed op de toelating van een farmaceutisch product. Waar komt ze vandaan? - Van 1985 tot 1991 werkte Cooke in verschillende functies in de Ierse farmaceutische industrie. - In 1991 trad ze toe tot de raad van bestuur van de European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA). De EFPIA is de belangrijkste lobbyorganisatie van de farmaceutische industrie, met de hoogste lobbyuitgaven, de meeste contacten met de EU en meerdere ingeschakelde lobbybureaus. Het vertegenwoordigt enkele van 's werelds grootste farmaceutische bedrijven, waaronder AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson en Pfizer. Cooke vertegenwoordigde tot 1998 officieel de belangen van precies deze farmaceutische bedrijven inzake toelatingen. - Van 1998 tot 2002 stond Emer Cooke vervolgens aan het hoofd van de farmaceutische afdeling van de EU-Commissie. Van daaruit veranderde zij van plaats naar het EMA, waar zij hoofd van de inspecties was en hoofd van internationale zaken tot 2016. - Van november 2016 tot november 2020 had Cooke een mandaat als uitvoerend directeur van het EMA en was verantwoordelijk voor alle regelgevende activiteiten in samenhang met farmaceutische producten. Nadat Cooke die post bij EMA had overgenomen, werden binnen zeer korte tijd de coronavaccins van de volgende farmaceutische bedrijven goedgekeurd voor de EU: - op 21 december 2020, dat van Pfizer en BioNTech, - op 29 januari 2021, dat van AstraZeneca en - op 12 maart 2021, dat van Johnson & Johnson. Toen talrijke gevallen van cerebrale veneuze trombose, waarvan sommige met dodelijke afloop, werden gemeld in verband met een vaccinatie van AstraZeneca, zette met name Emer Cooke zich in voor handhaving van de EU-toelating. Overigens bedraagt de totale begroting van het EMA voor 2021 een indrukwekkende 386 miljoen euro. Hiervan is alleen al 330 miljoen euro afkomstig van door farmaceutische bedrijven betaalde toelatingsvergoedingen, d.w.z. ongeveer 86 procent. Het Oostenrijkse parlementslid Gerald Hauser vraagt zich af of iemand met zo'n uitgesproken farmaceutische achtergrond als Cooke zonder vooringenomenheid kan beslissen over een toelating: “Dr. Emer Cooke, die midden november 2020 in de raad van bestuur van het EMA is benoemd, heeft dus haar hele leven voor de farmaceutische industrie gewerkt. Zij heeft gelobbyd voor de farmaceutische industrie in een leidinggevende functie en is nu verantwoordelijk voor de toelating en voor de controle en voor de doeltreffendheid van vaccins - eveneens voor AstraZeneca. Geachte collega's. Wat zou men - als een niet eens ervaren parlementariër – in zo'n geval zeggen? Wat zou men zeggen? Gewiekste handel met voorkennis, gewiekste vriendjespolitiek, omkoopbaarheid, alle mogelijke dingen. Zo is het. Denkt u daar alstublieft aan als u in de toekomst het EMA neemt als bewijs voor de juistheid van het testen van medicijnen.” Het roept de vraag op of de geloofwaardigheid van het EMA in het geding is: een vaccinatie die nu al meer sterfgevallen en bijwerkingen veroorzaakt dan alle andere “vaccins” bij elkaar, wordt geacht jonge kinderen te beschermen tegen ziekte? Een injectie die miljarden oplevert voor de farmaceutische bedrijven, zou “winstgevend” zijn voor kinderen?!
