Kompakt forbud: Første erklæring fra Jürgen Elsässer
I går blev magasinet og nyhedsportalen ”Compact” forbudt af den tyske indenrigsminister Nancy Faeser. Foranstaltningen er kontroversiel, da pressefriheden er beskyttet af grundloven, og Faeser kun var i stand til at omgå den med juridiske tricks. Mainstreammedierne forsøgte at retfærdiggøre Faesers angreb ved at tegne det værst tænkelige billede af Compact. [Interviewer:] Ja, vi har chefredaktøren for magasinet Compact her. De blev brutalt hevet ud af sengen i dag af maskerede politifolk. Man får næsten fornemmelsen af, at kriminelle klaner bliver angrebet her. Hvordan har du det, når du ser sådan noget? [Jürgen Elsässer:] Det er det mest alvorlige angreb på pressefriheden, i hvert fald siden Spiegel-affæren i 1962. På det tidspunkt var Der Spiegel dog ikke forbudt. Nu har vi en forbudskendelse fra Nancy Faeser mod COMPACT-Magazin GmbH. Alle magasiner, alle tv-formater, alle sociale medieformater, dvs. det er et forsøg på destruktion. Grundlovens artikel 5 - presse- og meningsfrihed - er blevet suspenderet, ikke af den føderale forfatningsdomstol i Karlsruhe, men af en enkeltstående beslutning fra regeringen eller fru Faeser. Det er en unik proces, og nu kan man virkelig sige, at vi altid har advaret mod den: Den er på vej mod diktatur. Men i dag er manifestet blevet til. [Interviewer:] Engang var en publikation forbudt i DDR, men ikke i BRD, det er sandt. I DDR var det Sputnik, det var i 1988 kort før kommunismens fald, ser du, forresten, har du en mening om det? [Jürgen Elsässer:] Et regime i forfald slår altid vildt omkring sig. Og de mener, at det var tilfældet med Honecker og Mielke dengang, og at det nu er tilfældet med Baerbock og Faeser. De tror, at hvis de indfører forbud, kan de redde deres regime. Men det modsatte vil være tilfældet. Folk indser det og bliver endnu mere forargede, hvilket gør oppositionen stærkere og stærkere, og til sidst er regimets fald uundgåeligt. Vi har brug for en fredelig revolution som den i DDR i 1989. [Interviewer:] Du nævnte, at de brugte et trick. De har forsøgt at forbyde COMPACT via foreningsloven, eller de ønsker at håndhæve forbuddet. Alt vil blive taget fra os, alle computere og alle vores konti vil blive konfiskeret, dvs. de penge, vi har tjent som COMPACT, vil nu blive stjålet af staten og blive statens ejendom. Der er ikke noget juridisk grundlag for et sådant forbud mod en presseorganisation, som er lovlig. Vi har aldrig haft en eneste domfældelse for noget indhold. Ikke tilskyndelse til had, ikke racisme, ikke antisemitisme, ikke tilskyndelse til vold. Vi er en fuldstændig upåklagelig institution, og alligevel kommer denne foranstaltning - dette forbud.
