Kla.TV started its first broadcast on July 14, 2012. There are now well over 20,000 exposing programs. The channel for uncensored news and dissenting voices is now represented in 87 languages around the world. A huge staff, who invest their free time every day on a voluntary basis and without pay with a lot of joy and heart, makes this possible. Be amazed yourself and take a look behind the scenes for a few minutes.
Do you want to be a part of it too? Then connect with us today:

Today, on July 14th, this memorable day, Kla.TV is celebrating its 12th birthday! The day is memorable because on July 14th, 1789, angry citizens stormed the Bastille - the state prison in Paris at the time. The king was imprisoning his political opponents there. The Bastille was therefore seen as a symbol of the unfair balance of power and the king's arbitrary rule. Today we may no longer have an absolutist king, but we still have comparable unfair balances of power. Namely because of the compulsory financed state media and excessive censorship. This is precisely why Kla.TV launched its first program 12 years ago and stormed the media landscape - peacefully but effectively. There are now well over 20,000 exposing programs with hundreds of millions of views. The channel for uncensored news and dissenting voices is now represented in 87 languages around the world. A huge workforce that volunteers every day, free of charge and with a lot of joy and heart, makes this possible. Be amazed yourself and take a look behind the scenes for a few minutes.
The greatest birthday present you can give us is if you physically connect with us. Because in times of internet censorship, it is more important than ever that people know each other in the real world and are not just connected digitally. To do so, go to www.kla.tv/vernetzung. A Kla.TV regional networker will get in touch with you. If you would like to contribute your skills somewhere, let our regional networkers know. We will then show you insights into how we work together and the individual areas of Kla.TV.
Due to omissions and one-sidedness in the reporting of the public media, more and more people are being forced to step out of passivity and invest their often scarce free time in spreading uncensored news. In a real emergency program, this growing volunteer workforce sees itself as obliged to spread important and indispensable dissenting voices around the world. Kla.TV puts in almost the same amount of effort as the employees of the mainstream media. But for their work they cannot rely on the horrendous funds of over eight billion euros in broadcasting fees that flow into the public broadcasters in Germany every year. But they are amazed at what Kla.TV has built up with its commitment and without broadcasting fees. Every day I read the newspaper, listen to the news from the mainstream media and get information online. I often sense intuitively when something is wrong with a report. Instead of getting angry or complaining, I research background information. When the most unbelievable reports come in to Kla.TV, the big work begins to check the article sources for authenticity, rummage through archives, conduct interviews with experts, question people involved, visit places. I work for the Kla.TV editorial team and the great thing about it is that we work together as a team. Our diversity beats the simplicity of the mass media.
I don't like researching and writing entire texts. But I love supporting authors by shortening drafts that are too long. Based on the main idea of a program, I look at what is really needed and what can be left out. It just annoys me when a program says "Libya" instead of "Libya". Or when the grammatical cases are mixed up. Does that bother you too? Then you've come to the right place in our team. We make sure that such errors don't creep into a program. Since valuable dissenting voices are often censored and deleted online, many helpers save these sources. This way they are still available as evidence. I help to examine every program before it is broadcast. For example, I filter out when the author confuses the North Sea with the Baltic Sea in the heat of the writing battle or an animator has displayed the wrong country flag. Matthias coordinates the Chur studio. If, for example, the animators need images, he organizes helpers and keeps the film crew informed about when the text will be back from proofreading. Are your strengths in coordination and organization? Well then, join in!
I help with the media archive. This is a gigantic pool of images, music and videos that we collect to include in a program or film. Many images were taken on vacation or while traveling and can help us to clarify what is being said in a program. On the Kla.TV website, I enter a handful of suitable keywords for each program. And then every article on Kla.TV can be found using the right search term. The SchI learned the basics of editing programs through self-study with the help of great and simple Kla.TV editing courses. I really enjoy it and it's easy to learn. Take a look at this jingle here, for example. I've always wanted to work on films. Here I can really be really creative and create new things. And that's so extremely cool. Don't you want to be part of it too? We're pensioners, both over 70. We translate media commentary into Russian. We've learned to type and communicate by email. That's how we stay fit as pensioners. As a passionate cameraman, I capture every event on site instead of just watching. For example, when Merkel was there. This way, I can get up-to-date recordings, and photographs are also enough. Grab your camera or cell phone and send your recordings to Kla.TV. Is the sound too muffled? Too loud? Too quiet? Does it have too much bass? Or is it distorted? Then the content doesn't come across. If your heart beats for sound like mine does, Kla.TV still needs a lot of us. I love drawing for Kla.TV. It's really fun that we from little Iceland can contribute to the big Kla.TV. I built this counter here with a colleague. It was a lot of fun. One day I want to build a really cool Kla.TV studio. At Kla.TV, presenters and speakers are professionally trained by us coaches to work on their voice and posture, to maintain direct eye contact with the viewer and, above all, to become one with the text.
