Is there a threat of another war from German soil? "Stop Ramstein Airbase"
Is another war being started from German soil? The US administration operates over 100 military bases in Germany. More and more people are no longer able to rest in peace sitting on a powder keg. "Stop Airbase Ramstein" therefore organized an extensive week of action from June 16-23, 2024 with a peace camp near the US military base Ramstein and Kla.TV was there live. Hear voices from the people and don't miss the exclusive interview with Dr. Daniele Ganser.

From June 16th to 23rd, 2024, a peace camp was held near the US military base in Ramstein. During this time, "Stop Airbase Ramstein" organized an extensive week of action on the topic of peace in the face of escalating war efforts. Will another war be started from German soil, thereby unscrupulously breaking our commitment "Never Again War!"?
Kla.TV was there live at the evening event on June 21st, collecting impressions and voices from the people and letting Daniele Ganser answer this question in a short exclusive interview.
A few kilometers as the crow flies from here is the largest US military base in Germany: Ramstein - the headquarters of the US Air Force in Europe. All drone wars of recent years, whether in Pakistan, Libya, Afghanistan, Somalia, Yemen or Iraq, were controlled from here. Very few people know that the US administration operates over 100 other military bases in Germany. This massive strategic military presence of the USA in Germany scares many people.
And the explosiveness is increasing. At the beginning of the week [article from June 14, 2024], the German-language online medium NIUS ran the headline: "NATO: Wiesbaden becomes headquarters for Ukraine support." This refers to the US base in Wiesbaden-Erbenheim.
Wailing Wall TV has produced an impressive documentary on this. [www.kla.tv/25042]
For years, more and more people in our country have been unable to rest, sitting on a powder keg, so to speak. This year, hundreds of people have gathered here again for a peace camp as part of a peace week.
Their message:
• We are active for peace
• We refuse to be enemies
• We seek international solidarity and networking.
[Interviews from the people]
"Hello, when we drive through the streets here, everything is peaceful, there is peace. Why a peace camp? Why are you here today?"
[Woman] "I can answer personally. I have something in my hand. It's a piece of grenade splinter. My mother picked it up while it was still warm when she was 16 years old. My mother was born in 1924. I know from stories how war propaganda works and how people are incited to go to war. And that's exactly what I'm seeing here at the moment. There's war propaganda here and our government wants to send us to war. Here in Germany, on German soil. And I learned as a child: never again war! My father helped set up the Easter March movement, advised conscientious objectors. It's clear to me that my son can't go there. He's 27, nor can my daughter who's 24, nor any of our other children. And the Ukrainian and Russian children shouldn't go there either. Never again war is the only motto I can grasp that we can act on in this regard. Better to negotiate for 1000 hours than to shoot for one hour.”
[Man] “And Ramstein is of course a good place to demonstrate for peace, because unbelievably terrible things happen here. And sometimes I get the impression that we Germans are at the forefront when it comes to bringing war into the world or helping others to bring war into the world. And that doesn’t have to happen, does it? So that’s why I’m here and I support the Ramstein Peace Camp and I’m happy that so many people have answered the call and are making Ramstein great again and can also live this power of peace.”
“Hello, we’re here at the peace camp. And when you drive through the streets, you think it’s peaceful, everything is peaceful. Why are you here today? Why is the peace camp important?”
[Man] “Hello. Well, it might still be peaceful here. But firstly, not everywhere, and secondly, it won’t be peaceful here soon either if the politicians continue with what they apparently have in mind as their plan. And I would like to show through my presence here that not everyone is simply blind to what we are being told.”
“Great, thank you for being here!”
[Excerpt from the speeches]
On stage today, journalist Christiane Reymann, theologian, psychoanalyst and writer Eugen Drewermann and historian and peace researcher Daniele Ganser are speaking on the subject of peace.
[Christiane Reymann:
freelance journalist, formerly worked for public broadcasters]
I thank you very much for being here and that there are so many of you. I am really pleased. And I can assure you, statistically you represent the majority. There is a new study by the International that says that not only in Germany, not only in France, not only in Great Britain, but also in the USA, the majority is against a war against Russia.
[Eugen Drewermann:
German theologian, psychoanalyst and writer - analyses political conflicts and their causes]
Ramstein is the largest military exhibitionplace of the USA outside its own territory. From here, drone murders are carried out and organized all over the world. Illegally. At will. Suddenly. With the tolerance of the Federal Republic, which claims not to know anything about it in detail. We know about it and we no longer want it to stay that way. The message is clear. Ms. Baerbock, we must negotiate instead of trying to ruin Russia. We must see our own fear in the eyes of others. We have become murderers. Mr. Pistorius, you can read about this in your own museum, as an experience from 1914 to 1918. Do you seriously believe that things have improved? The Second World War, as usual, was only a worsening of the First. And what we have now is much worse than the whole of the Second World War. Not even atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were enough. America needs hydrogen bombs. Not enough yet – America needs neutron bombs. The killing must always be able to escalate. And now perhaps the worst of all. What is needed are people who will take part. 16-year-old girls, 18-year-olds – should be prepared to learn how to kill people on command. This happens in every barracks yard in the world. That is why I speak for peace and against war. Not for purely political, economic or other reasons, but as a matter of principle. War is inhumanity and the source of all immorality. Man at the workbench: If they come back and tell you that you should make hand grenades and cannon barrels instead of cooking utensils and water pipes – man at the workbench, say no! Mother in Germany, mother in the Ukraine: If they come back and tell you that you should bear children, girls for the hospitals, boys for the trenches – mother in Germany, mother in the Ukraine, say no! Man in the laboratory: If they come to you and tell you that you should invent a new death for the old life – man in the laboratory, say no! And priests in the pulpit, from whom I have not heard a single word these days, not even support for Pope Francis - man in the pulpit: If they come back and tell you to justify the war and bless the weapons - man in the pulpit, say no! Because if you don't say no, it will all come back and be worse than it ever was. Thank you for being here.
[Daniele Ganser:
Swiss historian, peace researcher and publicist: examines the topics of peace, energy, media, war and terror with the aim of strengthening people who are mindfully committed to peace and an intact environment.]
Viola Amherd and Ignazio Cassis organized a peace conference on the Ukraine war in June, you heard about it, and they did not invite the Russians. That is another sign. If you sometimes ask yourself: Are we living in an age of confusion? Then the answer is very clear: Yes! It's like when you have a marital dispute and you say: Yes, I'm an expert, I can help you, but I'll only invite the wife. And then we'll mediate. It's not possible, everyone knows that. And we've just had that in Switzerland. And actually the analysis is like this: You can say that the Americans violated the UN ban on the use of force because they overthrew the government. You can't do that. That is a clear violation of the UN ban on the use of force. And the Russians violated the ban on the use of force because they invaded in 1922. Now you put 1922 and 1923 together and say, well, then Germany could just stay neutral. You can stay neutral and say: There are two different groups here, we'll mediate. And one advantage would then be to break away from the Americans, but that would mean that Germany should leave NATO. I would perhaps like to conclude like this. When you realise that it is not a smart way to go to war with the Americans, then everything falls like the scales from your eyes. Then it is not so complicated. It is not so complicated. Instead you simply say, well, the Americans have already bombed Vietnam, they have overthrown the government in Iran, they have overthrown the government in Guatemala, they have overthrown the government in Chile, they have of course bombed Libya, they have manipulated the elections in Italy in 1948, you were not yet born then, but then it just kept going. So it is a very long series of wars that the Americans have fought. And strategically, my main concern here in Germany is to raise awareness that there are wonderful people in the USA. They are also part of the human family, like the Russians and the Ukrainians and the Palestinians and the Israelis. But you also have to know that a very small group in the USA is extremely violent. Extremely. And you shouldn't follow them blindly.
[Interview with Dr. Daniele Ganser]
“Mr Ganser, Germany must never againFor a long time, the maxim in Germany and in politics was that war should end in war. How do you view this maxim in light of recent statements by German politicians?" [Ganser:] "I am worried. I think the maxim is still correct: Germany should never start a war again. And if you now say: yes, no, we are supplying weapons to Ukraine and Ukraine can use these weapons to bomb Russia too, then that is fine - I think such statements are wrong. I think it would be much more valuable or correct if Germany said: no, we want to work for peace, we want to work for the Ukrainians and the Russians to sit at the negotiating table and to stop killing each other. That means that Germany's role should actually be not to encourage wars and, above all, not to create wars. Yes, that is the Taurus leak that we heard, that officers from the German army told the air force that we could also bomb Russia. That is going completely in the wrong direction. That worries me, and I also believe that the majority of the population in Germany definitely does not want that.”
“What do German politicians actually have to say here, in Ramstein, what do they have to say in the area of NATO? Do they have any room for maneuver at all?”
[Ganser:] “Well, it depends on how you look at it. Officially, Germany is a sovereign country, and if it is a sovereign country, then German politicians could leave NATO and say we no longer want to be in this military alliance. Then German politicians could push, for example Chancellor Olaf Scholz, for the terrorist attack on the Nord Stream pipelines on September 26, 2022 to be investigated. But if you look, you have to see, and it is of course painful to see, that Olaf Scholz is not pushing for this terrorist attack to be investigated. And actually, I would like it to be investigated, because it was a major terrorist attack that is also causing great damage to the German economy. And here you get the feeling that German sovereignty is being restricted. And that's why my position is that all American soldiers should actually withdraw from Germany. There are 38,000 at the moment, and that the Ramstein Air Base should be closed. We are a few meters away from the air base. Even if that is my position now, I know that it won't happen tomorrow. But I think it is valuable if more and more people dare to express this position publicly."
"In other words, we don't have to expect so much from politicians now. We have to take action ourselves. We have to wake up ourselves and pass on our wishes, our will."
[Ganser:] "Yes, I think the population has to decide for themselves what they want. Well, there is a part of the population in Germany that thinks the Americans are our good friends and that they mean well by us. But then I would really look into the terrorist attack on the Nord Stream pipelines. If you then come to the conclusion that the Americans have different interests to ours, then you have to think about how you can assert your interests. Because it would actually be interesting for Germany to import cheap natural gas from Russia and have a flourishing economy. But now we have a situation where Germany is actually in danger of suddenly becoming more and more involved in the war with Ukraine, because Ukrainian soldiers were trained on American military bases in Germany. And historically, the Americans dragged Germany into the war when they attacked Serbia in 1999, in Afghanistan in 2001, and in Syria in 2015. And I'll just say that these are smaller countries, Serbia, Afghanistan and Syria. Russia is a completely different situation. And that would be the moment when we should wake up and say, never again war, not even war with Russia, we don't want that."
"You always talk about the human family. That's a nice image. What solution do you see? What can we do as people?"
[Ganser] "So with the term human family I want to say that Ukrainians and Russians, Americans and Germans, Serbs and Afghans belong to the human family. Because in war propaganda one group is always portrayed as evil and then the argument is made that if we kill the evil people, we will be better off. That is how it is always told, and that has actually always been the case in history. So I simply realized that it is a very old thing and with the term human family I actually want to show thatthat you shouldn't kill anyone at all and that all this propaganda about there being only terrorists in Afghanistan and the Russians being evil from birth is all just war propaganda, that you should put it aside and then say, no, there are wonderful people in Afghanistan, wonderful people in Russia, wonderful people in Ukraine, wonderful people in Germany. So that you don't let yourself be divided, because war propaganda can do a lot of damage to people's hearts and minds when they suddenly think that this or that nation is fundamentally evil. That was always a lie."
"Yes, and then you lose your fear of the other person. Mr. Ganser, thank you very much for this short interview."
[Ganser] "You're welcome."
"You said love, truth and..."
[Ganser] "Courage"
"...courage. And I wish you for your life that you stretch these three stakes far apart."
[Ganser] "Great. Thank you. Thank you very much!"
"Have a nice day."

Daniele Ganser] “Mr Ganser, Germany must never againFor a long time, the maxim in Germany and in politics was that war should end in war. That worries me, and I also believe that the majority of the population in Germany definitely does not want that.” “What do German politicians actually have to say here, in Ramstein, what do they have to say in the area of NATO? Do they have any room for maneuver at all?” [Ganser:] “Well, it depends on how you look at it. But I think it is valuable if more and more people dare to express this position publicly." "In other words, we don't have to expect so much from politicians now. We have to take action ourselves. We have to wake up ourselves and pass on our wishes, our will." [Ganser:] "Yes, I think the population has to decide for themselves what they want. And that would be the moment when we should wake up and say, never again war, not even war with Russia, we don't want that." "You always talk about the human family. That's a nice image. What solution do you see? What can we do as people?" [Ganser] "So with the term human family I want to say that Ukrainians and Russians, Americans and Germans, Serbs and Afghans belong to the human family. That was always a lie." "Yes, and then you lose your fear of the other person. Mr. Ganser, thank you very much for this short interview." [Ganser] "You're welcome." "You said love, truth and..." [Ganser] "Courage" "...courage. And I wish you for your life that you stretch these three stakes far apart." [Ganser] "Great. Thank you. Thank you very much!" "Have a nice day."
