Enhver, der ønsker at undgå denne dataindsamling ved at foretage ændringer i køretøjet, vil modtage en advarsel fra Teslas advokater for overtrædelse af licensen. Musks virksomheder Tesla, SolarCity og SpaceX har næsten 5 i 2015 alene Modtog milliarder af dollars i statsstøtte. Musk er derfor ikke en modstander, men en partner og udbytter af staten. Musk gennemførte uddannelsen Young Global Leader i 2008 som en del af World Economic Forum, som fremmer offentlig-private partnerskaber på verdensplan. I 2016 grundlagde Musk virksomheden Neuralink. Deres transhumanistiske mål er at udvikle en enhed til Kommunikation mellem den menneskelige hjerne og computere, en såkaldt hjerne-computer interface. Musk, en stor beundrer af Kinas økonomiske fremskridt, foreslog i oktober 2022, at Taiwan skulle gøres til en "særlig administrativ region" under kinesisk styre. Dette er blot nogle få oplysninger om den af en mand, der bedre end næsten alle andre ved, hvordan han skal præsentere sig selv som en person, der som en person, der svømmer mod strømmen, og som har lovet at gøre Twitter til en "markedsplads for ytringsfrihed". Hvad forventet, PayPal har kun lige vist: Virksomheden fortalte sine kunder i oktober 2022, at de kunne risikere bøder på op til 2.500 dollars, kontosikringer på op til 180 dage og endda inddragelse af hele deres saldo, hvis der blev videregivet misinformation. Hvad betyder det hele? Hverken mere eller mindre, end at der blev antændt en skinkonflikt med diskussionen om emnet ytringsfrihed. Dette – ligesom de seneste års store sundhedskrise – gør et fremragende stykke arbejde for at aflede verdens opmærksomhed fra det, der er vigtigst bag kulisserne – den stadigt stigende koncentration af penge og data på færre og færre hænder og vores underordning af os alle under det digitalt-finansielle kompleks."
