According to official figures, 218 million children and adolescents between the ages of 5 and 17 work worldwide for starvation wages and under mostly inhumane conditions! This inhumane pursuit of profit must be brought to an end by a decisive and joint stand of the population.

According to official figures, 218 million children and young people aged between five to seventeen worldwide Work under mostly inhumane conditions! For example, in textile production, children are often exposed to chemicals without protection. It takes one kilogram of chemicals to produce one kilogram of textiles. Of course, when those textiles are further processed, there are still components in the fibres to which the young people are directly exposed. Western companies such as H&M and New Look have their produce manufactured in Myanmar by children as young as fourteen, who work up to eleven hours a day, six days per week. Minors are also used in mining, for instance in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to dig deep shafts into the earth with simple tools under dangerous conditions. The corporations that use child labor for the manufacturing of their products often circumvent the legal minimum age. Moreover, they do not even pay the mandatory minimum wage of these countries, which is already low. At the expense of these adolescents, major corporations and their shareholders are making greater profits. This inhumane pursuit of profit must be brought to an end by a resolute and united uprising of the population. In addition, the perpetrators must be identified and the withheld wages paid out to the children and young people to secure their present and future existence.
